Our Origins
CAHD™ (Computer Aided Human Designed) didn’t emerge from a boardroom—it started with a simple concern: digital tools are powerful, but what happens when we lose sight of who’s actually creating? From Photoshop filters to AI scripting, technology has a place in design—just not at the top of the credits. That’s what sparked CAHD™.What Drives Us
We saw a future where 100% machine-made work becomes the silent standard. Technology should enhance, not eclipse, human creativity. CAHD™ is our answer: a rating system that clearly shows how much comes from human ingenuity and how much from a tool—be it an algorithm, automation script, or plugin.
Here’s what CAHD™ does better than most frameworks out there:
Respects authorship — creativity belongs to people, and that’s worth preserving
Fights invisibility — if we can’t see the process, the work starts to feel artificial
Adapts with technology — the tools evolve, but our commitment to transparency stays firm
Why It Matters
Without clear accounting of human vs. machine input, audiences—and even creators—can lose touch with the authenticity of a design. With CAHD™, the trust doesn’t come from blind admiration—it’s earned by seeing the hand that shaped the work, even when technology helped pull the threads.
CAHDD™ — The Mothership
CAHDD™ (Computer Aided Human Design & Development) is the umbrella for our work. It sets the direction for how we approach design and technology—not as rivals, but as partners. CAHDD™ isn’t about rejecting automation, and it’s not about letting machines run unchecked. It’s about putting people and their ideas at the center, with technology as a strong and trusted ally.
CAHD™ — Our Design Project
CAHD™ (Computer Aided Human Designed) is the design-focused side of CAHDD™. Here the emphasis is on architecture, visualization, graphics, and the craft of making things look and feel right. We value good design—design that’s intentional, well thought out, and human at its core. Software and automation can help get us there faster, but they don’t replace the role of judgment, taste, and intuition.
TechRatio™, Human–Tech Balance Index™, and Software–Human Ratio™
We’ve started using ideas like TechRatio™, the Human–Tech Balance Index™, and the Software–Human Ratio™ to talk about the mix between people and technology in creative work. These aren’t rigid formulas—they’re ways of reminding ourselves and others that progress isn’t measured by how much we hand over to machines. What matters is how well human thought and technology work together.
Our Approach
We use technology every day—it speeds up tasks, gives us new tools, and makes ideas possible that once seemed out of reach. But we also know the difference between something that’s simply automated and something that’s designed with care. Our focus is on keeping that relationship honest, balanced, and real.
